Why is Walt Disney an important man in American history? He won 22 Academy Awards in his lifetime and was the founder of Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Walt Disney took multiple photography classes and art classes in high school. He had a passion for drawing and creating images that make other people happy. His cartoons, enthusiasm and passion has kept children smiling since 1911. Walt Disney is an important man in history because he changed the entire film industry, made the first animated film, and creating a wider appreciation for family values. (Sperb, Jason. 2005)
Walt revolutionized the film industry in so many ways, from the first feature-length cartoon to the way animation was created and viewed, to building an empire out of cartoon characters and imagination. Another technical innovation that Walt helped popularize was the multiplane camera used in animation filming. One of his animators developed a special multiplane camera that he used to film Snow White, and it revolutionized the cartoon industry because it gave the cartoon a 3-D effect, making it more lifelike and real to the viewer. By the early 1960s, the Disney Empire had become a major success, and Walt Disney Productions had established itself as the world's leading producer of family entertainment. ( Boje, David M,2013)
